PROGRAM OVERVIEW

Modules
The Community Safety and Crime Prevention Practitioners Training Program will provide you with the knowledge and skills you need to support, develop, and/or implement community safety and crime prevention solutions or initiatives. It consists of two modules:

Module 1, Introduction to Community Safety and Crime Prevention

Module 2, Planning and Implementing a Community Safety and Crime Prevention Project

  • Intended for:
    • Practitioners already involved in the field
    • Volunteers working with a community policing office or police detachment
    • Volunteers organizing a crime prevention program in their community

  • Provides advanced training in crime prevention processes and practices.
  • Describes the process of planning and managing a prevention initiative - from the community needs assessment stage to actual implementation.

You must successfully complete Module 1 before you can take Module 2. The latter is password-protected. AFTER you submit your assessment exercise for Module 1, you will be given step-by-step instructions for setting up your own ID and password in order to access Module 2. You MUST have an e-mail address where we can contact you if you forget your ID and password.
